Getting to the IAVC.... 2001 2.3L
I really thing I have a problem with my Idle Air Control Valve. I found a post in the FAQ about cleaning the IACV but I still have a question. What is the best(easiest) way of getting to the goofy thing to remove it? It is stuck right between the rear of the intake and the firewall and I don't know how in the world I am gonna get my big ol' gorilla hands in there to take it off. Any words of wisdom? Can you get to it from underneath or not? It just looks impossible to get to.
Thanks In Advance!

I just pulled it in the garage and tried to get to it but I just can't do it. I give up. What a PITA. I think pulling the engine might be the easiest thing to do....haha
Car has 152K miles on it. It runs perfect and goes down the road just fine, but it just dies sometimes when it goes to idle. Like when you come up to a stop sign and slow down. Instead of going to idle, the rpms drop way down to 100-200 rpm. If I catch it quick enough I can give it some throttle and keep it running but it's getting to be dangerous. I almost rolled out into traffic yesterday and then realized it had died.
Watching the tach, normally the engine will slow to about 1000rpm and then bump back up a couple hundred rpm....then slowly settle down to about 700-800 rpm idle. I assume it is the IACV that does this "bump". Sometimes the engine just slows down and keeps slowing down....never bumps back up. That's what makes me think it might be the IACV.
