Weird question, wire for brake lights

So I'm relocating my 3rd brake light on my hatch, and I need to extend the harness. Does anyone happen to know what the gauge of the 2 wires that lead to the plugs for the stock wings brake light are?

Will any wire work? Sorry, i'm kinda new to wiring and **** and don't want to [freak] **** up.

I believe the wire is 20-22 gauge.

The wires don't have to be very thick at all as the light doesn't draw very much current at all. Just do a clean job of solder and heatshrink, it'll turn out fine.
