Default dpfi to mpfi swap question

I have done hours of reading and come up short. I want to swap my dpfi to mpfi on a 88 dx hatch with a d15b motor all stock. Local junk yards have been low on si parts which I read are needed. My bud which does all kinds of swaps at his shop tells me that I can use a 92-95 intake manifold etc. He is also stating that I dont have to convert that manifold to obd1. Is that possible....can I really use obd1 parts on my obdo without messing with anything? Can some one please let me know if I can use it and if possible what I need from an eg obd1 donor car? Will it be California smog legal? Please help im a total newb here

yes you can use obd1 or even 2 manifold. but you need the pm6 computer and all the other obd0 stuff. the manifold is really the only thing you can use off the "donor"
