after you do what the guy in the above post said.
From personal experience you need to bore out the hub center...never tried spacers though.

They fit with spacer modification. I know because I bought a hatchback with miata rims

miata wheels are lightweight. i rocked the daisys' on my ef but after a while, you would feel like that are getting uglier everytime you'd wash your car. but overall, these wheels are about the same weight as the hx wheels, just not as popular though. oh yeah, i'm using 3mm spacers. go for it
Here's a quick shot I took(they're in the process of being painted black). I weighed them with a bathroom scale and they came out to 10.8lbs, and are supposedly wider than HX(6in vs. 5.5)

I bought the wheels with the hub bore already bored out, so I don't know what exact size he used; but from the pic I guess 2 1/4 is good.

some of them fit without boring them or have spacers. i dont know which ones they are but had them on my crx and they fit. but i also had some like 2000 ones, the 16's and had to use spcers.

You're right!
I can confirm this for the Panasport-looking ones from the 90-94 Miatas. They need to be bored to 56.1mm or run with 5mm spacers. The wheels use cone-seat lugnuts too. Take them to a machinist, shouldn't cost you more than $100 to have all four done, and you'll be safer having it bored fit the Honda hub instead of relying on your lugs for concentricity.
The wheels will not clear Honda's 10.3" front brakes, so the calipers will need to be ground down slightly for clearance, or you need those 5mm spacers.

I don't know about the 90-93 ones, but the ones I have fit over 10.3" brakes just fine(you can't see it; but it's 91 EX knuckles/rotors with DA calipers on there).
I can see the newer Miata wheels like those pictured above fitting over the brakes. The spokes are thinner and curve more, giving extra clearance. I have never fitted those wheels so I can't confirm.
The older wheels (90-94) that loosely resemble Panasports have 7 thick spokes that provide poor clearance. I needed to grind down my caliper slightly (only the outside corner edge, not the whole outer surface) to get those to fit over 10.3" front brakes.

would the Panasport-looking 7 spoke wheels from the 90-94 Miata clear the front brakes and rear drum brakes of a 98 civic hatch?
i'm pretty sure i'll have to have it bored to 56.1mm, but i might just get the 5mm spacers.
j/w cuz i'm might be pickin a set up for $50.

I cant confirm with the miata wheels, but i have a set of 14" wheels on my EJ1 that wouldnt clear my hub so I tried spacers and I couldnt get enough treads on my lug nuts with stock studs for safe driving so my brother and I took them to his work, used the biggest drill bit they had and drilled out the center. and they fit perfect. I only had to drill into the wheel 3/8 to 1/2 to clear the hub. Sorry I dont know the exact diameter on the finished wheel.
