Default Hi there, I have a problem :(

Hi there, iam new to the site and was wondering if anyone can help me??? I have a 2003 S2K and iam getting a strange clunking noise when i change from first into reverse then move away, same if i go from reverse to first then move off, the sound comes just as i move off, not when the gears engaged. Sounds a bit like the brake pads moving but iam not sure, anyone else had any experiences like this, any input would be helpful !!!!!!! hope its not the prop

I had the same problem, I forget exactly what it is, but if you have your hub nuts greased and retorqued to 220ft/lbs the clicking stops. It has something to do with the axles and hub disconnecting and reconnecting.

well, i had clunking noise from my suspension, checked my tie rod ends, my sway bars and it wasnt either, the guys that did my alignment didnt torque the adjustmenst for caster and camber correctly and they got loose, just had to tighten them down. but i also do get on sometimes when i shift, something in the tranny but that one doesnt bother me, probably something with the syncros or the gears popping in and slapping.
