Default what other differences are there in the EG's besides the years?

Here's the story, my EG was missing a door pillar when i bought it, so i went to the junk yard to buy one, I found a EG like mine except the one I found was from 1992 and mines 1994. I removed the pillar, bought it and took it home, but when i got home i tried to put it on my car, but it wouldn't fit, it was too short in width. I took a look at the passenger side to see if it was the same but bit wasn't, the one i bought was flat and my passenger one was flat but with a steep curve about 4 mm long. My question is...is there more differences between the EG's (hatches) in body parts (or any other parts) other than the year they were made? i also noticed that the EG that i took the door pillar from did not have side moldings.

Which part are you referring to? Do you mean the trim on the back end of the front door's glass?

If so, here are the part numbers.

So there are two part number choices for each part for each year. So you might have ended up with the wrong part number, which could be different for whatever reason.

GARNISH, R. DOOR SASH
72430-SR0-A00

GARNISH, R. DOOR SASH
72430-SR3-003

GARNISH, L. DOOR SASH
72470-SR0-A00

GARNISH, L. DOOR SASH
72470-SR3-003

Oh, and since the car you took the piece off of had no side moldings, it was either a CX or VX (according to the factory parts catalog). The parts listed above are the same for all the hatchback trim levels it appears.

yeah, that part. I looked at the part that i removed from the car and the part number reads 72970-SR4 LH, could this part possibly be from another car other than the car I took it from?

The SR4 denotes it's from a sedan. A lot of sedan body parts won't interchange with hatchback body parts.

I searched for "72970-SR4" in the EPC and got back the part number "72970-SR4-003".

The following models use this part number:

1992-1995 Honda Civic 4dr DX
1992-1995 Honda Civic 4dr EX
1992-1995 Honda Civic 4dr LX

Remember that the doors are totally different sizes all around, so most large parts won't be interchangeable. You'd be lucky to randomly pick out any part on the door that is interchangeable with coupe/hatches and sedans.
