Default g23 cams what can i use

i have a g23 f23 with h22 pistons and h22 head. I want to get cams. when i put the engine together i clayed the engine. I wrote down all the valve to pistons clearance and look like to me i could use a cam with another mm lift. so can i get a cam with 1 more mm lift

You'll probably have to re-clay it if you want anything particularly aggressive as cam profiles vary wildly and your H22 pistons in the F23 stick up a LOT.

Not to sound like a smart ***, but did you clay the motor with vtec locked? If not then this will be were the 1mm of clearance is coming from and when vtec engages you can say good bye to the motor.

i think i know better than that. when i put it together took out .040 from the valve relief of the pistons. do you think that is going to be ok. I think i will just take the head off and check to make sure. It will only cost the price of a new head gasket just alot more time a 1 hr job to a all day job.and if the valves hit a weekend job.
