What is the best way to mount sparco seats with side mounts.
I just bought some seats from sparco with the side mounts and bottom bases but they dont seem to work that well together, I am wondering if the mugen ones are the best for what I am trying to do or should I just bolt the side mounts to the floor, any pics would be appriciated. Thanks.
sparco needs to work on their overall rail and slider fittings IMHO, took some coaxing and a huge chunk of skin outta my finger to get mine in.
Bolted my Sparco Rev using the steel side mount which were bolted to the slider which was then bolted to the floor mount. The had to cut the floor mount 3/4" to get enough room for my helmt....

That is my problem I installed the side mount onto the slidder which then will have to be put onto the bottom mount with custom holes, when I then sit in the seat my head is in position to hit the roll cage, that leaves the sparco seat actually higher off the bottom than the stock type r seats.
I had Sparco side mounts in my 94 Accord Sedan. What I did to get a lower and more stable stance. I had to cut MOST of the front seat beam that goes across the width of the floorboard. If you dont cut it, opt to a Mugen seat rail.
If you do cut it, you can sit SUPER low or SUPER high, you have that adjustability. I used steel re-inforcement plates on each side of the chassis to prevent chassis tear out in case of a wreck.

I will try and take some pictures this week but the only difference you will see is that I cut the two legs on the back of the floor mount and drilled new holes for the bolt holes. This drops the seat down to the stock seat height. The weired thing about the integra is that the rear leg close to the center is an L shape and once you cut the vertical section you need to reweld the L section back on to have it bolt on properly. My mechanic needed to weld the L piece back on in the car to get the proper height.
Besides doing this you should mount the side mounts to the slide using the shortest bolts you can find so that you can bolt the seat to the side mounts in the lowest position. Either find some small bolts or cut some long ones short.
The other way my friend gets room for his racing helmet is to remove the Sparco seat cushion but I didn't opt for this method because I didn't pay this much for a seat to use it without the cushion.

I'm using the Momo Cup GT seat with the Mugen rails now. I can honestly say the height dropped a very generous amount when compared to the stock seats/rails setup. Here's a picture of the seat, and I think you'd fit quite well. Next track event, you should try it out

I see. Well, you're welcome to sit and see how you like it at the next event we're both at. BTW, I'm close to the weight, but nowhere near the height attribute (5'10")

Mugen rails do not bolt to stock seats as they are side mount rails. I have considered replacing my Sparco rail set up with the Mugen ones but am not sure if they will line up with my Sparco seat.

Switching to an aftermarket seat with a slider will not give you a lower seating position unless it uses mounts like the Mugen ones. The reason is because the floor mount + the sliders + the side mount means you will be mounting the seat higher than stock. The stock seats and mount seem to be one of the lowest seating positions you can get. The only other aftermarket seat rail combo that I found as low as the stock seat besides the Mugen combo is the Bride seat and rail combo. If you can find someone who has the Bride rail and seat you will see they mount fairly low.
The only other way is to use the side moutns and bolt them directly to the floor but that is not practical as you can't slide the seats anymore.

Racing seat with 3 bolts holding it in ownz.
Here are the pics of how my Sparco Rev seat is mounted in my GSR using all Sparco parts with some customization.

I drive my car in the winter and when the salt and snow get on the steel mounts. Well you get rust. It started happening with the stock seats and I have not had time to sand the mount down and repaint. So far it is just surface rust so it isn't a big deal but I should fix it when I find some time.
