I am 99% sure the H23 motor was discontinued in 1996,
but it will fit reguardless.

Do a quick search man. Its been cover millions of times.

Here read up: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/2168311

That will tell you everything you need to know.

If I were you I would just buy the H22a motor and swap it in your car.
Your Prelude transmission will work with a H22a motor.

the h23 with the 13:1 compression pistons still need to be put together..so could anyone give a little advice on the best choice or if the h23 from the 2002 wagon will fit?

You're not making a whole lot of sense.

-13:1 is a terrible idea unless you are an expert tuner.
-There are not any 2002 H23s unless it from a market outside the US.
-Any engine after 95 is OBD2, so of course you have to convert it.

Read the FAQs.

Do you mean the H23vtec from the 2002 accord wagon Sir?

If you cant afford a $1200 H22 motor, then I HIGHLY suggest you stay away from the H23vtec 13:1 comp motor or whatever.

Stock they can go for $4000, chances on that motor being capable of even running are slim.

Seriously man. If I was you. I would just look for a normal h23a1 replacement motor and call it a day.

If you cant afford a normal H22, then stay away from the cheap ones. The cheaper ones might have problems or very high mileage.

thats what i was thinking the dude with the 13:1 h23,spun a bearing and replaced all the inturnals to make it 13:1 compression..so i dont even know if it will fire up.now there is a guy with a h22 he wants 950.that i'm thinking about..why should i stay away from the h23 vtec?

No, I am saying if you cant afford a $1200 h22,
then this guy is obviously selling this 13:1 comp H23vtec motor for less then $1200 right?

I highly doubt that the motor is healthy if he is selling that for so cheap.
So stay away from "this" particular H23vtec!

Just go out and buy a regular non-vtec 160hp h23
or a 200hp h22a.

13:1 compression on pump gas requires very finite tuning and a tuner who knows how to "fix" the ignition tables so it doesnt blow itself up. that amount of compression is pretty much useless for pump gas as the motor has to be so down tuned so much it renders all that compression a complete waste.

you are not making any sense. Read the faq and gain some knowledge before you go stepping into something which you have no clue about.

do the right thing and save up and get what you really want instead of getting something now wishing you should have saved up. I would only think about pickin up the motor that your are talking about if you have no other option. shop around first, i honestly wouldnt touch a motor with out looking at pics or physically touchin it and such. but good luck
