Does not look hopeful. The roof area looks in the worst shape. How much would you sell the front and rear suspension. I always wanted to do a 5 lug swap. Just kidding man, sorry about that, but I do not think the car is fixable. You should not have a problem selling your glass sunroof to someone on HT.

Yeah, not really a rebuild candidate IMO. I especially fear what you'll find under that fender....

now that you mention that... you're right... the prelude belongs to my girlfriend... just trying to help her out, putting her closer to getting another one sooner or later

u would find frame damage that would probably affect the suspension/steering

Exactly. Damage to frame = throw away/scrap sale car.

That car is done. Looks like the engine might still be in good shape. Find a really high milage/no engine lude and swap the engine.

the car still runs and is drivable except you'd be looking out of a busted windshield haha 5th Gen shells are so hard to come around.... but that would be the best route...

try posting in the paint and body section.

There might be people that actually DO body work, and not just people going "yep that looks like it's done"

You would not believe the magic a good body shop can do, I have seen cars MUCH worse than that be repaired to look and drive like new.

Is is fixable? yes
Is it worth it? maybe not

a lot of body shops also give free estimates, i would check into that before making a final decision.

The question is not about the exterior of the car. The extrior can most of the time always be fixed. It is exactly what vietnamezerice said frame damage.

^^THANK YOU GURU!

i'm trying to help, you're trying to pick fights. pick elsewhere

nowhere did i see the OP say that the frame is bent

all i am saying, theres a whole bunch of people saying "it's done," which is most likely not the case. I'm not saying the frame isn't bent, i'm not saying it is. Without seeing it in person or strapping it to a frame rack, we obviously can't come to conclusions that it is or isn't bent

No question it can be fixed. But this is ther real world with real money. While I have never done any body work besides some sanding before paint and a rad support replacement, I have spent alot of time in body shops. That roof is whats going to kill it even if there is no other frame damage. Our ludes just arent worth much these days. There is alot of small damage around the car also. Looks like it was flipped.

By all means, take it to a body shop and let them give you a final answer. We cant tell you just from those pics.

even if it is fixable, im gonna have to say its not worth it man. you can find another prelude that looks just as good and maybe find that has less miles or if your insurance writes it off get a different car if you like. but good luck with what ever route you go with. sad to see another lude gone

so u decide what u wanna do yet? hehe i may need a few parts.

looking at it again though, if there's no frame damage behind that fender, you could fix it without affecting the chassis that much i THINK. If i remember correctly the roof skin and windshield and all that are just spotwelded in? so tearing it apart and replacing it should be drilling out welds and welding a donor in place? but don't take my word for it, i'm not a pro. I mean what do you have to lose aside from time invested? start tearing ish apart and learn

Yeah, you're right. I should consult a PRO. The only problem with getting it estimated is getting it there. Even then, I don't have the money or time to have this car as a project. The bad part is, the car had no collison or comprehensive insurance so it will have to sit as is until I part it or have money to fix (which i doubt )

There is damage all around the car. From dents to dings, it has imperfections everywhere now Good guess on it being flipped. I believe it was rolled a couple of times.

C'mon man, anything is possible,Get the unibody checked, if its good, Take out the interior, around the windshield take off the sun roof and windshiled comalong the roof the best you can, hook it up to somtihng realllly solid above the car and crank it out, fill it with fiber glasssa nd ****. I know that sounds backwoods, becasue it really is but I once hit a tree with my old subaru, [freak]ed it to hell and comalong and bondoed the hell out of it. drove it for a couple years, sure it wore tires but other than that, haha Do what you want, it'll never be the same but you can deffinatlly rig it up, expecially if insurance isnt doing anytihng for you. goodluck.
