Default I love my teggy *MPG related*

So today I filled up my 98 gs-r @ Chevron using 91 octane (reset trip meter to 0) and drove about 65 miles visiting a friend. The car sat for about 5 hours, then I drove it back to the same Chevron to fill up. The total trip is 105 miles and it took only 2.878 gallons. That means I got over 36 MPG on this trip. It was mostly freeway cruising at 75ish mph.
Only mod is AEM CAI, and 192,xxx miles. I LOVE MY TEGGY!

Fill error could affect that number significantly. Especially since it was only a small amount of gasoline. You need to calculate that number over many tankfuls to establish an average and minimize the fill error effect.

I'm a proponent of statistics. LOL

Long highway trips doing about 70 most of way I get 34-37mpg. get around 23-27mpg around town. And yes I beat on it several times per tank. (use 93 oct)

air filter, fuel filter, plugs, wires, tire pressure, spraying some carb clean into TB will clean system out too (not while its running).

how do you guys have gsr's and not redline them often? I dont know man, the pain of NOT doing it would make me go crazy.

I get about 26 mpg around town. and 33 on all highway trips cruising at 80-85. And Im no light foot.

When i first bought my GSR, i figured out the mileage on it bone stock. I was getting an avg of 26-27 city and 32-34 hwy. The funny thing is that after i turboed it, i got 23-24 city and 33-35 hwy. My lead foot lost some mileage in town, but i recovered some of it on the freeway which i thought was odd.

The next challenge is going to be getting good mileage with E85

would changing your o2 sensor help in improving gas mileage? if your o2 sensor was going bad.

The 02 sensor is generally overlooked by most people. Since it relays the approx AFRs to the ECU and then adjusts fuel, its a pretty important piece to have. If yours is starting to go bad, i would get a new one and i'll bet you'll see an improvement in mileage.

good luck with that! dont you have to run like 750cc or 1000cc injectors with e85? at least you get that higher octane.
