Default 98vtec's H23vtec - 215/178 - 13.43 @ 103

well, after freaking god knows how long, the motor is up and running and I must say it feels pretty damn good.

heres the chart and a rundown of whats up:

h23 block, darton lined, 89mm bore
balanced and micropolished f22 crank
crower h23 rods
wiseco pistons
Cometic .051 headgasket (~12.2:1 compression)
KS balancer delete
stock h22a head
RMF narrow
EuroR IM
S2000 throttle
RDX injectors
2.5" cat
custom 3" exhaust
AEM cai / Bpi Flowstack
pump gas
<CROME>
4200 rpm vtec crossover
Torco TBO

I MIGHT take it to the track, but I really dont have the money to replace anything if it breaks lol.

Built it but don't want to run it. What a Shame...

No confidence??? Run it!!!!

Looks like a good build that will last to me.

Not bad, I wonder what is holding you back though? I was almost positive you'd be well beyond 220whp...

Maybe a little headwork? It seems H series n/a builds are always a toss of the dice.

not really concerned with the "numbers".

i have about 40whp and 40tq more than I did when i ran 14.0 so needless to say, I'm very confident that the car would run good times.

only so much you can do on 93 octane with high compression and a completely stock head.

If these are stock cams then I'm even more impressed.

14.0 at 96.6 MPH setup vs. h23vtec

both are running the same head.

on the old setup i had:
completely stock h22a longblock
really short intake
stock/port matched intake manifold with blacktrax 8 port spacer
2.25" exhaust

new setup:
same stock head
built block obviously
AEM cold air
EuroR IM
3" exhaust

for anyone who was wondering, lol, this is the exhaust

14.0 is a very good number considering the modest power your producing, i want to ask you want kind of tyre/suspension setup were you doing on these runs??

my brother have achived 14.5 @ 99 mph using a jdm-h22 block and i/e so i'm wondering

it was my first time ever on slicks so yea, it was fun. My best was a 1.94 after only getting 4 runs. A mustang wrecked towards the end of the night right before i was up to stage to get my last run. Each run i got faster and i bet i could have gone 13 on that last run but i guess i will never find out now, lol.

For being a "boat" it sure can move pretty well.

I can't remember how much lude's weigh, but with that amount of torque, you should get off the line pretty well, and the whp should propel you into the low 13's on slicks pretty easily.

My car at 2600 lbs (not a lude) on only 20x8 slicks got my 200 whp/136 tq machine down the track in 13.4 @ 105 with i believe a 1.8 60 ft time.

Get the launch down and you'll be running quite a bit quicker in no time. What were your 60ft times. That determines your overall time the most. A 2 second 60ft vs. a 1.8 60ft can be as much as .4-.5 difference at the line.

its in the 2600-2700 area now. my best 60' was 1.94 after only getting 4 runs my first night out on slicks. And yea, low 13 is about where i see it running in its current state.
