Default who makes the best thermostat for the ef?

since i got the engine apart i thought i should just replace the thermostat too.

im not sure if im looking for a high or low temp thermostat.
the main idea is to keep the temps low as possible. so would i be looking for a low or high temp thermostat?

also who makes the best performance version, other then oem? ...because i dont think there is an oem version that will keep the temps low.

best=most reliable

Why do you need a lower temp thermostat?

x2, The OEM Honda is the best made and most reliable. For Honda, this is one
of the parts you don't want to cheap out on. Plus, the motor will run more
efficiently at its optimum temperature, which was engineerd by Honda.

The OEM temp will give you the best mileage and longevity.

I have replaced mine in my CRX twice since the car was brand new. Once for service, and once for motor swap....went B....

I have never seen one fail. But if you are torn down, thats the best time to do it anyway, just for the sake of preventative maintenance.

T-belt comes to mind if it's apart and checking lash etc.

Mugen or Spoon low temp thermostat is better than OEM. It is an upgraded OEM design. It will help keep your engine cooler under hard (spirited) driving. OEM is better than the Advance or Autozone crap. For best results use the fan switch and a high press. radiator cap also. I have had mine two years and up to 100 degrees I haven't noticed the drop off in power like I use too.

doing a full engine build.

so i guess after its done i could assume its back to 0 miles. but before this the engine had 75k miles on it.
