Default toyo t1-r question

im in the market for some performance all season tires and a buddy of mine works at les shwab and said he gets them for 10$ more then what the store pays for them and he quits in 2weeks im just wondering if the toyo t1r would be a good tire to pick up cheap while i can. my wheels are oem 15 96spec itrs what tire size should i go with 195/50/ ? I dont know anything about tires so if I could get a little help before he quites that would be great. thanks.

The proper 15" tire size for a '96 Civic hatchback is 195/50-15.

The Toyo T1-R is a summer tire, and is not designed for use in snow or extreme cold the way all-season tires are.

Goodyear makes a lot of different tires with the Eagle F1 name on them.

And no tire is "better" in every way; some offer better performance on dry pavement, some better in rain, some cost less, some last longer, etc. (The Goodyear F1 GS-D3, for example, has better performance on dry pavement and in rain than the T1-R, but costs more. I would get the F1 GS-D3 over the T1-R, but that's because I'm willing to spend more for better performing tires; not everyone is.)

T1R's are great tires... They provide good grip and handle excellent in the rain based on my experience. To this day I would prefer to rock T1R's over any of the tires that I've owned thats still currently in the market
