00 ex o2 sensor problem-im a newb to hondas so please read
just picked up a low mile 00 ex for my GF to drive.did t he basics(I/H/E) well her brother gave me a hand.while i was installing the SS he was installing the header.well.....the threads on the bung for the o2(DC header) were focked up.instead of telling me so i could just cap and weld a new bung he procceded to force the o2 in.well he was able to get it almost all the way in...almost.so now i have a exhaust leak at the bung.what i see is i have 2 choices. weld the damn o2 sensor on there sealing the leak or force it back out,cap it and weld a new bung on.choice number 2 will be used if welding the o2 leak free messes it up.so heres my question, can i use a o2 sensor made for a 98 car in my car?or is there any sensor i can use in place of the 225$ stocker?i can get a 98 OE ngk for 85$ but for my year it triples in price.im not sure what to do but what ever it is i need to do it fast.the leak is bugging the hell out of me.
All 4 wire o2's for Hondas are the same.
Yes, get the NGK or a Denso unit. These are the oem suppliers so the sensor will work just fine.
Do NOT get a bosch from the parts store... Not that you brought it up, but for future reference.
(many users here couldnt install a tach, so saying that is a compliment)
