I just got my ITR water pump in the mail today and there is no dowels on the water pump where it mounts to the block. The old one has them, and so has every other I've installed.

Anyone else have this problem? would it be ok to use it without the dowels?

 

The one that came off my car when I had my water pump replaced 1000mi ago, had no dowel pins. The new one I got from Acura has the pins.

 

Thats just how they come now, dont worry about it. It will work just fine

 

Hmm.. I wonder why they stopped putting them in the water pump. I would think it keeps the w/p in the exact spot it needs to be in.
