Default drag radial vs street tire measurment method

I got a set of BFG drag radials in 225 50 15" and wanted to put them on the car. I need 2 more bfg to run 4 all round but I dont have them yet. I measure a 195 50 15 tyre and is way lower than the bfg even tho the profile is the same 50mm. The car these are going on is 4wd so all 4 tires must be same height/radius. Is there a different measurement method for drag radial to that of street tires? confused.

thanks

I'm trying to follow what you are saying.

the "50" is the aspect ratio. The height of the tire is 50% of the tread width. This is why a 225/50 is taller than a 195/50 by about 15mm.

sizing does vary slightly between brands also

The 50 is a percentage based on how wide the tire is. Say you have a 225/50-15 that means that your sidewall is 50% as tall as the tire is wide. The 225 is your tire width and 15 is of course the wheel size.
