84 honda accord car not running
I have a 84 accord 4 door and its not getting gas into the engine. The car will run if i spray carb cleaner into the throttle but stops running after the spray. Could it be that the fuel pump is going out???
That could be something as simple at a fuel filter clogged up. A fellow '89 owner just had the same problem and fixed it for the cost of a $4 fuel filter.
Check out http://www.3geez.com. There's a 2G section there (2nd Gen Accord) where you can bounce this off a group of ppl that all have the same car, and I'm sure have encountered this before too.
sorry, I'm really not trying to plug the site at all, just trying to offer up a resource for help.

I have an 84 Accord 4 door myself. There are 2 fuel filters to change. To check if your fuel pump is working, replace both filters (a good idea to do anyways and cheap), then pull the fuel line off up in the engine bay and try to start the car. If no fuel comes out of the line, it's the pump. If you do get fuel, it's a carb issue. Maybe a stuck float. Also, make sure there's gas in the tank ...
