Default looking for a exhaust like this

hi first off let me say i no nothing about welding or any type of fab work so any help would be great i seen this exhaust at a meet and i thought it was a great idea and since my car is turbo i do not want some 3inch exhaust with a 4 inch muffler sticking out the back my questions are 1. whats it made from2. can any of the shops listed in the link on the first page in md make it

take that picture to an exhaust shop and tell them you want the same thing.

well, I thought the rest looked like aluminized myself, but in these photos, i really can't seem to tell.

yes it will surface rust, mostly where it's welded. but it's not like it's going to disintegrate in a matter of months. it will take many years for it to rust completely through, by that time the car will probably be crushed in a junkyard anyways.

The first 3" exhaust i made 3 years ago was from aluminized tubing, with a stainless flex section. So far the uncovered welds are rusted and ugly, but it holds fine. Its seen one salty winter on the road, and one winter under several inches of snow.

That would kind of be a waste if you actually got it coated. Most stock cars use mild steel tube for exhaust, it takes years for it to become a issue.

The tubing is aluminized. You can see the white stripe down the length and the dull gray color which is a solid indicator. I would bet the tip is made from 409 stainless, which is more commonly stocked at exhaust shops then 304, as they cant bend it. It would also explain why you are getting some corrosion on the bottom of the tip.

ok well i will not get it coated its not a big deal to change exhaust every couple years anyway and i will try the local shop and see what they can do thanks for the help

i dont think 2.36 piping and and a gt3076 work well togther at high rpms
