215-50-16
they are def not too wide for 16x7. but they are kind of big IMO(about a half inch taller than stock). i like to keep it stock size outer diameter or smaller. they might rub on the inside of the fender, depending on what your offset is. but they should work.
Asuming you have 16x7 wheels to put the 215/50/16's on, it will work fine. you'll have about 1/4 inch of overhang on each side. which is handy is you dont want to scratch your wheels.

What do you base this off? 205 is within recommended range for a 7" wheel.
205 is perfectly fine. I have 205/50/16 on a 16x7 wheel. Doesn't stretch, doesn't bulge. Handles great
I definitely wouldn't mess with the stock diameter. Keep it as close as possible, 215/50/16 is much too large for 4th gen preludes.

The reason is that widest possible tire for a given wheel width means more grip.
The gearing change from a 205 to 215 is only longer by 1.6%. If you really didn't like that everso marginally longer gearing, a 215/45 would get you 1.9% shorter.
