cutting stock springs?
You can, if you like to do math to perform it the right way, which is not particularly easy. Otherwise, like someone said, it is much better to just pay for actual lowering springs.
here is another thing to think about. a lot of springs are "taper cut" at the bottom. If you take the stock spring out of your car and stand it on the ground, it will stand by itself.
If you just cut the spring shorter, how are you going to replicate that? if you just chop it off, the spring will no longer stand on its own. because of this you will have a serious pressure point where the full size end of the spring contacts the spring perch, top or bottom, under load. I could see a spring perch failing if it is not constructed to handle an untapered spring in the first place.

i dissagree ive gone through alot of hondas and all the ones i bought with cut springs rode way better then ebay coilovers. if your truely broke cut them but your better off getting some good quality suspension. oh ya you dont cut the taper end like some one said above you cut the other end then heat it with a torch and pound it down like how it was but you dont even have to do that.

both are worse then worn OEM parts both i'd go as far as saying they are dangerous and both I'd say people who do them wasted time and money.
If you can't afford to mod a car DON'T mod don't half *** it.
