Default Hassle with seller (What is a replica ITR wing worth?)

First off, I'd like to ask (because maybe I am wrong), what is a used ITR Replica wing worth?

Second...well..I'll just paste the week and a half conversation:

----------------------------------------------------------

CONDENSED VERSION

(10:01 AM 5/16/2008) tegdude227: the wing is all wrapped up and ready to ship

(10:53 AM 5/16/2008) Eclips3: Cool! I'll send you the money through paypal then... you couldn't send me a few pics of it wrapped? lol

(11:34 AM 5/18/2008) tegdude227: yea and it is in a box also so as soon as i recive payment ill ship it out

(11:36 AM 5/19/2008) Eclips3: The money is SENT

(5:41 PM 5/19/2008) tegdude227: hey man sry for the wait ive been super busy at work and my computer has been acting funny. but it will be getting shipped out tomorrow

(6:08 PM 5/19/2008) Eclips3: awesome!! woot!

(6:34 PM 5/19/2008) tegdude227: yea ill get u a tracking number as soon as i get one

(7:06 PM 5/19/2008) Eclips3: Thanks again for the smooth transaction. Cheers

(4:50 AM 5/20/2008) tegdude227: hey man i had no idea that you lives in canada im going to take it to a place when i get off work today. but it seems like every time i sell something it goes to canada and i have to ea the shipping bill its not ur fault. but if its more money to ship it then i wanna spend i can send u ur money bac or u can send me more for shipping. but honestly then u can buy it from and online store and get it for cheaper. sry man

(12:37 PM 5/20/2008) Eclips3: Ah [freak]... let me know what happens man

(3:21 PM 5/20/2008) tegdude227: alright well they said it was going to cost like 40 or 50 bucks to ship it so thats ur call man ? and once again sry for the inconvience

(7:34 PM 5/20/2008) Eclips3: ? Thats not too bad... 140 shipped isn't enough? I mean your the seller and everything so you dictate the price but thats not too bad for a replica wing when they are 129 shipped for a brand new replica from Tunerz-Image (Team Integra Sponsor) ... the only thing is its unpainted.

To tell you the truth, I figured it would be more than that to ship.

I'm a little wary to send any more money to ya because my car will be going in for paint in the next few months anyways so I can just get a new one for cheaper.

Let me know your thoughts.

(4:37 AM 5/21/2008) tegdude227: thats wat i would do if i were u i mean mines in perfect shape cuz i just got my car painted also. but i think ur best bet is going to be to buy from them and just get it painted while ur car is getting painted. sry for all the hasel. and ill send ur money bac to u asap

(8:29 AM 5/21/2008) Eclips3: ... how much more do you want???

(8:56 AM 5/21/2008) Eclips3: c'mon man, I've been talking with you for a week and a half about this and now your going to back out for a couple of bucks???? Aren't you selling this to get a Mugen wing?

(5:02 PM 5/21/2008) tegdude227: another 40 and its urs and yes i am selling this to get a mugen wing. well trying to as soon as i can find one lol

(7:25 PM 5/21/2008) Eclips3: 40 dollars?!? That'll be 180 shipped?! Noone else in their right mind would give you 180 or EVEN 160 for a REPLICA ITR wing man. Quit playing with me man. I'll give you an extra 10 bucks but thats it man. Even if you sell it within the United States, you're still going to pay 20-30 for shipping. Why are you getting me to pay an extra 40? thats rediculous. i can get an OEM one for that

(1:49 PM 5/22/2008) Eclips3: man whats happening? can you just ship the wing or what?

(2:34 PM 5/22/2008) tegdude227: i want 140 for the wing thats money that i want in my pocket. its has a great paint job on it. and its going to cost 40 bucks to ship it thats 180. so i told u it was going to be cheaper to buy it off an online store. so ill just send u ur money bac and we can be on our way sry for all this hasel

(2:39 PM 5/22/2008) Eclips3: Wow.. all this for nothing? What a pain.

Good luck getting any more than that.

Send me my money back.

----------------------------------------------------------

What a waste of my time....

What do you guys think? Am I overreacting? I'm not happy.

Well it seems like he did tell you it would be better to find it elsewhere. Maybe he found another seller, but you did say you thought it would be more expensive to ship. The most I can say he SHOULD have done is said 140 shipped to the United States and said canada was different. But he didnt state that it seems so a real company should bite the bullet. But seems he didnt want to, that sucks but Im sure you can see where hes coming from not wanting to pay for shipping himself.

Thanks guys.

I just figured 140 dollars was a pretty good offer. If it costs him 40 to ship, he pockets 100 for a replica wing.

Just such a waste of time.

For $180~ you can buy an authentic used spoiler~

I suggest that you should buy a replica one on Tunerzimage @ ebay?

It only cost $110 shipped to your door...

Well first off, shipping a ITR wing to canada is going to cost about $75. Getting it painted is probably going to cost around $100. Buying an unpainted replica ITR wing is $129+shipping+the time it takes to get it.

So for $180 shipped for an ITR wing to canada already paint it is not that bad.

The only reason I know, is because I'm from Ontario and I know the shipping prices and I just shipped a AEM CAI to someone in Quebec and it cost $25 just for a intake and a "claimed $30 value"

I think you are went a tad over the edge with this. It really isn't a big deal. I wouldn't lose 40 bucks either. 40 dollars is a "couple bucks" like you say.

It was miscommunication and you got your money back. Go on with it, and leave it be. He was actually really nice and even giving you suggestions.

You can get a used OEM ITR wing off eBay for $130-160 shipped. There's a seller now that's selling them for $129 BIN shipped from Japan.

You should be ok with certain used parts as long as you're buying from a seller with 100% feedback or damned close to it. If they have negative feedback it is good to check out what the negative feedback was for. That should tell you if it is safe to order from that person or not. And....if you must...always try to find a good deal with a "buy it now" price. I hate bid-wars. I hate spending time waiting to bid snipe ( although...I have done that a few times on parts where there are none with the buy it now )

I've bought a lot of parts off ebay. Mainly JDM interior items like the power window switch covers and switches, certain dash faux carbon fiber parts, JDM ITR rear seats etc Following what I suggested in the first paragraph....and ya can't go wrong.

I bought my used OEM HONDA ITR wing from eBay for $150 shipped. Still cost me $100 to have it painted.

But don't forget, the OP lives in Canada and shipping is at least DOUBLE or MORE than shipping to Canada.

i never seen a 100% but i seen 95%+ but im still skeptical because those same sellers sometimes selling one same item for weeks and months w/o a buyer... so HMMMM

you sure those parts are real you bought?

so ill look for a used jdm itr spoiler

hope it IS real and has correct fitments, gonna be my first ebay part purchase if i choose

LOL yeah, they were real On a side note, I usually avoid the auctions that don't have the pictures of the item I'm buying.
