cv axle question
ok i just purchased a D16A1 from a local performance shop.
im in the process of pulling my old D16A6(89 crx si) motor out but i ran into a problem.
this is my first swap experience and ive gotten all of my vacuum hoses and connectors labeled, as well as draining all of my liquids.
everything is disconnected and the motor is all ready to come out, but i cant get the cv axles to come out.
i took a pry bar and used light force to budge em from the tranny, but theres no enuff slack from the hub to pull em on out. i understand i can take out the lower arm, steerin knuckle and shock support bolts to take em out, but i want to save some time and a headache.
so whats the next best way of doing it???
ALSO, i kno the crx si cv axles will work on the dohc zc, but someone brought up a point to me... im goin from a single cam to a dual cam...will the dual cams torque bust my axles??

remove the bolt from the shock fork and separate the upper ball joint, and your set.
d16a1 from a 1g teg? How are you going to mount that into a 88-91? The mounts are completely different.

seriously?
i thought the mounts, tranny and other things worked on a DOHC ZC?
atleast thats what ive always heard and researched.
so if the mounts dont work, what would i have to do?

the 88-91 JDM DOHC ZC mounts, transmission, etc. do work, however, THE D16A1 IS NOT A ZC ENGINE, it is a D16A1 from a completely different chassis - the 86-89 Integra, that the D16A1 came in, has the same chassis as the 3rd gen Civic and 1st gen CRX - you will need to fabricate a driver's side mount - the A1 mount is on the front of the engine toward the radiator, not on the end of the block like the EF/ED cars - the 88-91 L3 transmission will almost bolt to the D16A1, but one of the bolts (bottom on rear) doesn't match - the D16A1 block doesn't have a hole for the long starter bolt that goes through the L3 transmission into the end of the block - you need to use the starter, clutch and flywheel from the 88-89 CRX/Civic - if the D16A1 you have is 86-87 model, then you have more problems - the 86-87 D16A1 has about 5 flywheel hp more than the D16A6 with about the same torque - the 88-89 D16A1 has about 10 flywheel hp more than the D16A6 with about 3 lb ft more torque

thx
that was very detailed info.
how do i find out what year integra it came from?
so if its an 88-89 motor, id have to get a driver side motor mount fabricated and use my starter, clutch and flywheel off my A6. any other issues i might run into?
