In all honesty, I thought the point of side skirts was to remain unpainted, bare plastic. That way they took the beating from the road (ie. rocks and pebbles) and wouldn't chip and look ugly. Is that wrong? I personaly wouldn't paint them for that reason.

It's better, true, if they are MOLDED in the color you want them, so the chips don't show, but color matched sideskirts LOOK better. You can always strip them later if you don't like the chips.

Yeah paint them.........flat black and a fricken manilla folder.....slide folder between car and skirt, spray....move folder to unpainted spot, spray......repeat until entire skirt is painted.

Follow same steps for other side

heres my dx hatch with painted side mouldings, side skirts, lower lip on front and rear bumpers. I think it looks way cleaner this way. IMO

uhh homie not all roads are as rough as you are describing them to be. my side skirts and moldings came painted when i bought the car from honda. for the 3 years i've had my car, the moldings and sideskirts have never been chipped from pebbles, etc. and the car was RED.

so debris just throws it self at other colors? i think u meant its more noticable on certain colors right?...my friend has a white ex coupe with everything matched..no problems on his either ..had it for about 2 years and no problems with chippin ever...its all in how good u or the body shop prep the surface..
