Default Radio Install Question

Car 95 Accord EX Sedan

I want to install an aftermarket radio and I want to use the OEM pocket, is it possible or do I have to get a new one to make it fit?

And yes I searched!

Thanks

You would definetly need a connector. You can splice the connector from the existing radio or you can buy one which will include the wire daigram . Best Buy and Walmart carries it. Depending on the aftermarket radio manufacturer and model you might have to get a kit. Just pull the existing radio out and check.

I've found Crutchfield.com as the best source for aftermarket receivers that come with custom fit hardware and wire harness adapter for virtually any car model.

The OEM "pocket" won't work well, someone ghetto rigged the one in mine by gluing it.

Just get a kit from like Best buy ~$25 and install it yourself

I think you will find that most after market kits have a pocket in the kit. Depending on the kits you get. Scoche kits are horrid. Really complicated and not well put together. Go with a metra kit and harness and you will thank yourself later. Crutchfeild is the way to go in order to get parts.

My Crutchfield kit came with a face plate that had the factory pocket on it. Installed great!
