Default Need guidance, shopping list to COMPLETELY convert cable to hydro on b16 in EF.

I've read what I could find on the threads here, and there really isn't a definitive answer. (sorry if this post is in the wrong spot, wasn't sure.)

I'm putting a hydraulic trans in my 1989 cable EF hatch with a b16a.

Here's where I could use some guidance. I "think" I need the following. It's not just as cut and dried as get a hydraulic conversion for $200. The swap was done "back in the day" so I doubt any of my mounts would be the same height or correct geometry that would allow me to just by one mount of somebody's kit, so I'm going to have to get all new motor mounts too, I'm afraid.

Anything missing?
1) Cable to hydraulic conversion.
2) Motor mounts, I'm of the mind I need hydro friendly motor mounts.
3) New axles, I believe what I have now for axles will not 100% convert.

What else am I going to be short when the new trans gets here?
different VSS? etc.

I don't have an Autozone or anything to just pick this stuff up (or check on what fits what). I'm in the middle of nowhere and need to mail order everything. So I want to make sure I'm being thorough.

if you want to COMPLETELY change to hydro (like you stated in your title) you are going to need more than just the mount. you will need the hydro pedal assmbly from an EG. and a steel braided line or hard line to run the hydro fluid to the slave cylinder. then you need to figure out how to mount that pedal.. believe me it doesnt line up at all.. you need to fabricate quite a lot to get this to work.

using a cheap cable to hydro actuator won't be as good as the full hydro conversion. its hard to shift and the pedal is hard as hell.....

Good luck with whatever you decide to do...

That is not all the parts required to do a conversion. And I mentioned that as the first thing needing to be ordered.

What about the axles?

I couldn't find this information on any search here. Or if you found something close, it was a post from 2001 and all the pictures are missing. So it's kinda tough.

Is it possible that because I'm swapping axles and the intermediate shaft from trans to trans, that I won't need to order new axles?

I heard that the only reason you'd need to get different axles, or perhaps "axle", would be because of the differences in the male and female output of the intermediate shaft.

I'm kinda lost here. I don't have parts to compare.

what existing motor mounts do you have? what about the rear motor mount bracket?

if you're not using Haspost (EFB1) kit, you can go ahead and buy this kit (EFB1) BUT request Hasport to replace the tranny mount piece alone off of the EFB2's (hydro kit) tranny mount piece. you might need to add some extra $ in having to replace the tranny mount piece off of the EFB1 kit in favor of the EFB2 hydro tranny mount piece.

for you to use Hasport's B-series swap kits, your engine's left hand (driver's side) bracket must be off of a first gen B16 such as this pic below:

same like the lower bracket, the piece at hand.

you will need the rear engine bracket off of a DA (90-93) as well, Acura Integra part no. 50827-SK7-020.

some random pics i've collected somewhere here in H-T long way back.

OR, if you don't want to go all through these troubles of fabricating the pedal-to-cylinder mounting, go find yourself a cable tranny case off of a 92-93 DA (YS1 cable) and stuff-in all your hydro tranny internals into it. therefore, you remain using a cable actuated clutch and use the entire Hasport's EFB1 kit.

I've chosen the latter and am currently transfering all of my CTR/S4C LSD internalls into my YS1(92-93) cable casing just like this guide:

Hydro to cable tranny case

for axles, 90-93 with SK7(DA), same year model intermediate shaft(female) or 94+ integra's, with same year model intermediate shaft(male).

when using DA intermediate shaft along with a hydro tranny, you must have to replace the driver's side tranny oil seal or vice versa, depends what tranny casing and intermediate shaft combo you'll use. meaning, tranny oil seal(driver's side) must match the year model of your intermediate shaft.

HTH

oh, this post should be in the Hybrid forums btw.

You need 94-01 Integra intermediate shaft and L/R half shafts. ABS/non doesn't matter, just get whatever is cheaper. I got my axles from Innovative, but the intermediate shaft off a 98 GSR.

Get the Innovative B-Series Cable to Hydraulic Conversion

http://www.innovativemounts.co...41001

you need--
-rear tranny mount from 94-01 Integra .
-94-01 Integra intermediate shaft and L/R half shafts.

This kit is OK, but its still not a true hydro conversion. I would prefer to do it the right way and fab up a master cylinder like ef92b posted and just get a stainless flex line to run from the master to the slave. plus if thats your Innovative kit, why did you get such a long flex hose, and not just run a shorter hose that would just clear around the radiator and to the slave?
