87 accord idoling issue
if it's in even decent shape, don't junk it.
There's a million things that could cause a crappy idle.
In many cases, it's just a bad fuel supply. First thing I'd have him do is spend $10 and replace BOTH fuel filters. There's a cannister filter under the car about in line with the rear tires, and another inline filter under the hood on teh drivers side one the firewall.
After that, I'd toss in a bottle (or two) of fuel system cleaner that's safe for carbs, and it should be OK. I've only had to rebuild the carb due to gummed up jets once in the 5~ish 3rd Gen Accords I've owned.
Hit up http://www.3geez.com and check out the technical section for a whole sleu of threads about things like this.
My apologies to all the mods that might think I'm trying to advertise a site, or push members from here. I'm not trying to do that at all, just offering up another resource for the members, which might be able to give them better exposure to others with the same problems.

i gotta 86 hatch accord with a carb.. i have idleing issues when real warm, it wants to idle high.. i can drive it all day every day like that so i didnt make any attempts to repair... i just thought it was the ton of vacuum lines that might have a lil leak in one or two

Good think Mark is here to point them in the right direction and offer his (might I say excellent) advice.
