I have a 94 civ ex coupe with a h22. I called GC and they said 400 up front. Does this sound right for this swap.

 

I'd personally run Integra spring rates.... F500/R400, along with some good shocks to compensate. I know people running that setup and the car drives and handles really well. I think F400/R300 would work also but it would be more soft and cause your car to bounce a bit more.

If you're hardcore, run F900/R800 springs

I just went with Skunk2 coils and AGX shocks.. Great setup and the ride is quiet nice.. Will let you know about handling in a few days once I get my plates..

 

what ecu are u using and who makes a plug n play ecu for the h22a eg swap and how much is it

 

jdm p13 chipped.

 

I am using a normal JDM p13 but will soon get it chipped... And all pinouts for p13 and p28 are the same except with the addition of vtec solenoid, vtec pressure switch, knock sensor, and 4 wire o2 sensor.

 

Um.. shouldn't the vtec pressure switch and solenoid be the same... even the O2? only difference would be the addition of the knock sensor, secondary butterflies, and EGR solenoids,etc...

 

I have a civic with a Type S h22a. No oil pressure switch and solenoid are different. Had to be converted to 4wire o2 sensor.. Knock sensor also had to be wired however I have a jdm ecu so it doesnt look for EGR

 

Doesn't the EG use a 4 wire o2? At least the ones in Canada do... As for the EGR.. LOL.. I only wish my JDM ecu doesn't look for the EGR...

I have the EK hatch with H22.. I'd like some more info on GC coilover springrates too.. I'm looking at the 500/400 setup, but it's a daily driver, and I don't want it real bouncy.. I want a nice ride that handles well. No kidney damage on the way to work! LOL

 

I have GC's w/the 400lb. rate. I got em last year when I was auto-xing. They're paired with the AGX's, and I love them.

 

I'm running 400 in front and 250 rear, feels great to me.

 

Yeah, I called GC and they recommended 380 front and 250 rear. That seems awfully low to me, but I guess I want a daily driver with more support so..

Yeah? Too high? How 'bout 380? is that a big difference? I haven't ridden in any honda with GC's which is my problem.
Maybe 350? What's the stock suspension springrate of a 96 hatch? Also, I have an Si suspension swap.. Do I need to buy Si GC's or can I just get 96 hatch ones? Do they interchange? Just tryin to learn. thanks guys!

 

I ride on 400F/400R springs daily on my GSR. They are as high as I would recommend to anyone else for a street car. IMO anything higher is race spec.

Perhaps more weight would make the ride not so stiff. Any recommendation I can give you would not be based upon experience with a H22 swap. However based on your criteria for a street car I would say somewhere in the area of 350-400 front and 300-400 rear. Progressive springs would be nice too for the street. All Eibach ERS custom rates are constant spring rates rather than progressive.

I am unsure about your suspension swap questions. Ground Controls are built to fit the shocks not the car. But I would mention this info when you order them.

 

hmm all good thoughts. Ok, I will mention this when ordering. I will shy away from the 400 and maybe go 375. That's for starters. 375 front 250 rear. That should do fine.
