Mcrae challenges Shumacher to a duel

No way Shumacher will take it. He would lose. F1 drivers only think they are the best drivers in the world.

I would LOVE to see that!!
But I think the F1 race would have to be AT LEAST 20 laps of the Ring.
Schumacher wins after McRae blows the rear tires after 10 laps due to trying to maintain a 20° slip angle.

anyone else find this as silly as Michael Jordan being challenged by Jerry Rice? Makes for great publicity and good for charity, but come on, they are all athletes competing in very different sports. its hardly a question of who is the best "driver" in as much as who is the best athlete. McRae wishes he made as much money as Schumacher.

yeah, duels for charity that could have the potential of bringing in big crowds and big money are dumb.......

Zach---> who must not understand this post.
If this were to happen, my guess is that everyone would be a little surprised how close McRae was in the F1 car and how close Shumi was in a rally car... McRae actually tested (a Jordan?) and Derek Warwick got in an Escort a few years back and ran top 10 times in the Rally GB.
Throw Robby Gordon and Tony Stewart into the mix and televise the whole deal.

I doubt this will ever go down, but if it does i really think that MS will have a lot less trouble handling an (relatively speaking)overweight, underpowered WRC car than McRae will a 900hp 1100lb F1 car....

Rallying is so extremely different from circuit racing (blind corners, never see the stage, loose and changing surfaces, etc) I dont think Schumi will be able to adapt quick enough.
Schumacher will get 0wn3d and you road racing weenies will have to move down a notch for the real top of the "pyramid of speed"

And I don't think you could make a fair test without a navigator... then it's just running through a preset, short course of dirt.
