what makes the component speakers so expensive compared to regular 2 or 3 way speakers?? i know the componets come with their own crossover system, but dont the 2 ways too? granted its just a capacitor but i still am not convinced that components are worth the high price they demand.

 

for components, you also have the option to put the tweeters anywhere you want, for better imaging. with regular 2 ways, you cant, so sound quality is improved from the component over the coaxials. some coaxials come with and outboard crossover, but most of them don't (or have passive x-over built in)
