You get what you pay for. Motors in decent shape are still cheap and plentiful, why buy one that has obviously been abused?

Worst case is that the block is a boat anchor and you threw your money into the trash.

how do you want someone on the internet to tell you what is wrong with a motor, why it is seized up and whether or not it is useable or not if it has never been taken apart and inspected?

either the engine can be reused or it cannot be. its pretty simple.

it's like you're asking strangers to look in to a crystal ball to give you sincere advice about something that neither you nor even the seller knows. it's impossible to offer any real advice.

tell me if this is the source of confusion: when folks refer to 'seized' engines/blocks/etc., they're not providing a detailed diagnosis of condition, rather describing the inability of the crank to turn. there are virtually an infinite number of reasons why a crank might not turn in a block which no one has disassembled to inspect. hope that makes sense.

glad i could help.

btw - in my experience, trying to recondition something back to usable form usually cost more than buying something in operation condition in the first place. think about this, why is the seller selling at such a 'good' price?

there ain't no free lunch.
