Rod bearing problem??
so i let these douche-bags *not literally* take my car for a "test drive", on their way back i hear them hauling *** and then finally slow down. Who knows how hard they were driving the car.
anyway so i have a b20vtec integra, i believe the internals are stock. so i get the car back and they jam, its been two days since then. I turned my car on and i hear a wierd rattle coming from the drivers side engine area, i dont know exactly where it is and obviously have no idea of what it could be.
The noise starts at about 2k rpm and progressively gets louder till about 4k rpm, i didnt take it past that, and it makes the rattle noise in 1st 2nd and 3rd gear.
I searched and ive seen the most common problem being a loose heat shield, but on a post i read they also said it could be a rod bearing problem, and im not completely ruling it out because i heard that is a common problem with the b20/ls vtec.
am i being overly paranoid? could this be possible? how would i know? is it an expensive fix? sorry for all of the questions and the vagueness but im stuck here and im so close to selling my car. any help would be appreciated. thanks

it might be something in the upper end of the motor, use a long screwdriver and put your ear on the handle... then stick the tip of the screwdriver around different spots on the head/valve cover/oil pan
and see if you can ear anything
