Default Eibach Sportline vs. H&R Race Springs

I have Eibachs right now but don't like the drop in the front. Ride is good but looking to get H&R springs due to their 2.0 drop in the front. Which do you prefer? Should I switch? What are the high and low points? BTW I have 17's and it is REALLY noticable in the front.

The H&R's even out the wheel gap in the front and back. H&R

I shouldn't really reply, because I don't know much about suspension thoery, but here goes a shoot.

First - you have 17's on way to big.
Second - if you are looking for a 2.0 or 2.0 + drop I believe you will have camber problems. To correct this buy a camber kit and coil overs.
Thrid - It looks like this is what you want to do with your suspension setup. Drop it 2.0 + inches and basically make it preform like a show car. If you are going for performance I believe you are in the wrong avenue.

Not too concerned about performance right now (will have Drag III soon) my 17's are light so the only thing hampering me is the rolling diameter which (on the butt dyno) isn't too bad. Just needing to know about ride quality and personal preference if anyone has tried both. BTW already have camber kits on the way.

I have the h&r sports (similar spring athe sportlines) on koni yellows. I think they are way too soft for the drop. I had to raise the spring perch and additional half inch to prevent my 3" exhaust from scrapping on speed bumps. Also my z10 radius bar would scrap and that's just a bad sound. You don't want to hear it. I always worry my 350.00 is gonna get scraped away.

If I could do it again, I'd get a full coilover setup or the gc coilovers with stiffer springs . On the plus side, compared to an SI, the H&R sports feel like stock.

Yes, I have the sports. The point I was trying to make is with race I seriously think you are going to have ground clearance probs. Hell, I had them just with the sports. If you get them with koni's, you'll be able to shim up the spring perches for more clearance. I just cut some 1 3/4" exhaust piping to use as the shims.

I like the low look myself, but the idea of stressing my frame from repeatedly scraping the tow hooks or worse yet, cracking my dp or oil pan just isn't worth it.

edit: grammer

btw the H&R sports are not similar to the eibach sportlines at all. the spring rates for the H&R sports are 276 on all fours. the sportlines are much stiffer in the front and a bit softer in the rear.

and yes i also used the adj. spring perches on my koni shocks to also raise the ride height a little

I made this switch,H&R race springs I switched about 2 weeks ago,the car handles better, you do have to be careful over bumps and speed bumps, the car will scrape, but the drop is perfect 2 inches front 1.75 rear, gives the car that tucked look.I'll take the low ground clearence with that perfect drop and tight handling. If your not looking to go to low go with the sportlines.

H&R Sports are only 276 spring rates? That is sorta soft IMO.
What is the spring rates of the H&R Race Springs?

Seriously...why do companies always sell springs based on how much they drop the car instead of the spring rates?

I don't know about anyone else, but I have nothing but praises for my H&R Sports. Here they are w/ my rear Koni perch on the lowest setting (2" drop total) and front on the stock setting:

I would also like to know the spring rates for both the Eibach Sportlines and the H&R Race springs if anyone has them.

I donno if this helps at all with Integra applications but it should give you an idea? I replaced my H&R races with GC 425f/300r coils. I like the GC's much better.

Oh boy here we go, I suppose now we're going to have arguments on spring rates? Where do you guys get your information? There are 2 posts right there showing 2 different specs on the H&R springs. Who is right? who knows....

Just called H&R they told me that the spring rates for the race springs are:

Front: 460 lbs/in
Rear: 350 lbs/in

A rep from Eibach is going to e-mail me with the Sportline rates.

My specs are really old. We argued over spring rates a LONG time ago and I simply went off the data that was gathered. Everyone agreed, finally. It's funny that people did the exact same thing of contacting manufacturers and asking for exact rates.

I don't want this to turn into a huge spring rate argument either.

Race springs Perfect drop IMO,my car looks slammed now, with the sportlines my car was alot higher, what I can't understand is sportlines are suppose to be 1.75 all around, the H&R race springs are 2.0 f 1.75 rear and the car looks slammed, and with the sportlines it looked a little lower than stock.

maggsgsr - so you have had both? how does the ride compare? is the clearance about the same or do you scrape more now?
