Default S2 pro 1 vs Jun 3

Hi guys,,
Im a newbie here..

Im building a motor with OEM 1.8L B18c5
using:
- thin HD
- supertech valvetrain (valve spring n ti retainers)
- IM performer X port match with 68mm TB
- mugen header
- 2.5 inch custom exhaust with 2.5" muffler

Im having a hard time choosing what cam should i use? this is going to be a DD.. Which one is better pro 1 or jun3?

Maybe the cr would be 11.5:1 or 11.8:1

It would help if you guys have a dyno chart to compared both cams..

THANKSSS

Pro 1's all the way i hear great things with this cam, i'm upgrading in a few weaks with the pro 1's and big tube hytech header 2.5'' exhaust, my comp. is 11:6:1 just use there valvetrain so your covered with a warranty!

watch out with that big tube header, in most cases it looks to be too much header. Even with my 2 liter vtec setup im staying with the standard size...just looking out, research alittle more just to be safe sir

dont put JUN 3's on a stock head and block...it wont do much...

with a good flowing head, 12:1+ CR, good header and a good tune and now we are talking

Yeah.. I will do a port job on my head n increase the comp up to 11.8:1 and have a good tune..

Hm.. how is the difference of jun3 in the vtec compared to pro1? is it much?

I want the motor to have a wide power band from low to high rpm? Maybe sacrifice 1 to 5 whp on the top not a big deal for me..

thx

Do you know what you're doing or are you just gonna get crazy with a grinder and remove a buncha material?

If you want a broad powerband, the Pro1 is your best bet hands down. They just won't peak as high as the Jun3, but they will dominate them in the midrange.

I disagree. Jun3's are about the only cam that I've seen work in anything from a B16 with bolt ons clear up to 95x86 methanol race motors. Versatile.

Yeah.. I know what im doing coz I'll let my friend do it for me as he is my builder..

is it much difference #s in the vtec if I used pro 1 compare to jun3?

cos I have a friend that use jun3 n he could came up with 270 hp at the crank so it's approx 220ish whp but no one use pro 1 in my country so im curios about it..

thx

Yea for sure lots of pics & dyno sheets coming soon! old to the current.. with my rebuild, i'll post my full bolt on gsr setup tunned on the vafc and many other tunned setups The big tube header doesnt bother me to much i think i have enough supporting mods to go with this header along with shawn churches tuning skills( it's all in the tuning!!) they always do a great job with tuning my setups, i know it fill flow better than my dc 4-crap!
whats your full setup ichikers?, i dont think that performer x im is good for n.a i heard of people loosing hp with that im i'd recomend sk2 pro series im portmatched to a 68mm tb! w/ a 3'' aem itr cai!

N.A is best.....

Thx mate...
I'll look forward to see your graph.. hehe..

I heard that performer x is the best improvement for 1.8L.. Currently i use the AEBS IM with 65mm TB but I'll change it using 68mm TB..

my setup is:
- OEM 1.8L no o/s piston or anything.
- pro1 or jun3 cams
- ferrea valve spring n retainer
- OEM type R valve
- ported head
- mugen header
- 2.5" exhaust with 2.5" muffler
- performer x port matched with TB68mm
- p28 rechip with unichip dastek
- thin HD
- CR approx 11.5 - 11.8:1

hopingfor 210WHp..

how but your's wunfstgsr?

I am building a similar motor.

GSR Block
81mm Wiseco 12.5 compression Pistons
B16 Head Full Competition Alaniz Ported Head w/ .05 oversized valves
Rocket Gen 1 Valve Springs and Retainers
Rage Big Tube Header
2.5 Inch exhaust

Still deciding on Intake Manifold as well as cams to run in this 1.8 Liter beast. LOL. Any suggestions.
