I finished my gf's wheels alittle while ago and had them powder coated. We had them balanced twice and they still shake the car and wheel so i think the powder coat paint on the hub surface isnt flat. Do you think that this may be the problem also? And how should i sand them down ? I was thinking of taking my flat palm sander and sanding till i hit the metal. What do you guys think?

 

I would try and chip off the coating with a razor blade, that way you don't alter the hub of the wheel.

i agree.. this has happened to me before as well.. everything balanced out good on the tire machine but after mounting them on the car they wobbled.... probably some crooked hub coat as mentioned ...good luck

 

how did you fix your problem? chipping it with a razor blade?

</TD></TR></TABLE> yes...the first time i did that and the second time i had the machine shop bust out their lathe and mill it off like 1mm

 

thats what i might consider getting done how much did that run? did you have to take off the tires?

 

well i was lucky since the tires weren't on yet since i learned my lesson the first time around

i say razor blade is your friend if the tires are on

the shop did it for me for like $10 for all 4 but then they usually charge $5 each to have rims offsets raised which is the same method ..
