Default Carbon build up

Hi,
Need you guys to help me on this. The check engine light came on while I was driving. Took it to the dealer and they said I had a high amount of carbon buildup and to fix it I would need an emission service and power steering flush. Does it seem right? Any idea how the carbon buildup came about? The car has 70k on it and it's an ex.

power steering fluid flush has nothing to do w/ carbon build up...you might actually still need one but i don't see how you'd need one because of carbon build up...

Get the Check Engine Light scanned at a place like AutoZone or PepBoys, just to figure out what code is being thrown. Then, come back and give us the details.

You could try seafoam in the engine. Look that product up and see what you think.
