some differences but the biggest difference to me is the price lol

3-4k for b16b
vs
1-2k for b16a

2k worth of mods = wassyyyy faster

 

u mean 2 grand worth of mods already on the engine or wat?

 

b16a2 - 160hp
b16b - 195hp

b16b - higher compression

b16a2 - $1500 long block
b16b - $3000 long block.. the

 

Actually the B16B has around 185hp, not 195hp. But regardless, it's not worth the extra money for 15-25hp just for an engine with higher compression, a factory P&P head, and cams. The B16B is a waste of money, unless you're just buying it for "show" purposes. Hell, you'd be better off with a B18C (SiR-G) engine over the B16B. With the B18C, you'd be spending a little less money for 5 less hp but more torque.

 

yeah if you get a B16A2 or just a B16A in general, its waaaaay cheaper... with the money you save you could throw a lot of mods to that engine that would make the B16B weep
