Default Another Moroso Oil Pan........Yes I Already Searched!!

I will post pics later in the evening, but for now maybe you can help me out! I have a moroso Aluminum(5.5qt) pan. Everything went great with the installation, gasket even looks good. But the problem is that when you put the dipstick in the hole, it literally runs into the botoom of the pan! It is kinda hard to explain/understand without pics, but i wanted to see if anyone else had this problem/solution before i post pics. Its like where the oil pan comes from the tranny side and then drops down 3 inches to the sump. If the drop down to the sump started a 1/2 inch back towards the tranny, then the dipstick would fit fine. Any insight or advice is greatly appreciated, although i don't need to hear 20 different people tell me that it leaks, has bad fitment, is pointless....etc. Leaking isn't my problem, having a dipstick is!

It looks like its just off a bit and it would be a simple bend, but trust me its not that easy!

so just run 5.5 quarts and see if the oil light comes on. if it does, add a 1/2 quart more.

thats how we do it on our sprint car motor, we dont run dipsticks.

that would work, but if i want to check the oil, then what? All i want to know is if anyone else has had this issue or is my oilpan a fluke.....

Put correct amount of oil into engine. Let the engine warm up. Turn it off. Trim the dip stick and drill new holes where the oil level is.

That wont work, the stock dip stick is the correct length, meaning the holes already in the dipstick are where the oil level should be reguardless of what oil pan it has. the reason it can hold more oil is because the rear of the pan is kicked out quite a bit. Dip stick has to remain stock length for the correct oil level.

I know how the pan is designed. I have one here in my room with me. I didn't know what your problem was until I saw the pic (just now). Try calling Moroso or one of the vendors on here that sells a lot of them (i.e. King Motorsports).

Looks like you have an SMSP spec'd oil pan.....seriously. I had Moroso build some for me to use with my B20VTEC header. They moved the sump wall towards #1 to get more space between the sump and bell housing so I could get all the tubes flat under the pan. The pan lost a little capacity.

Here's an old picture of the modded Moroso oil pan.

Here are some better pics of the modded oil pan. The final version didn't have the radius'd section going into the sump area.

Here's my drawing that Moroso built to, compare it to yours.

Thanks alot smsp! I will measure it later today and follow up with the results. By the looks of the pics i think you are correct. I always wanted a SMSP big tube header! smsp, would you have any thoughts or recommendations for this? Does the dipstick on a B20 sit offset compared to a B series vtec block?
