Automatic transmission skipping gears?
Hi, this forum was helpful in the past for my 2006 civic questions.
Yesterday I had a very worrisome transmission glitch on my 2006 DX with automatic tran.
At the end of a 400km trip with 4 people in the car, something bad happened.
The car jerked from a stop sign, green D light started flashing, and engine light came on.
I continued on (as I was in a deserted area), and saw that
- car seemed to skip 2nd gear, and shift with a big jerk from 1st to 3rd.
- it would not go into 5-th on a highway, engine was doing 3500rpm at 60mph (95kmph) steady speed.
After getting home and restarting the car a few times, it went back to normal - it shifts between all 5 gears (with just me in the car).
But it's still very troubling that such thing can happen anytime.
The car is at the dealership today, and I am waiting for an update.
/fingers crossed.
Anyone herd about such problems?

It sounds like hte problem I had with my Accord's auto tranny. Which was overheating and wearing due to a design flaw, replaced by Honda under warranty.
Just an update,
I got the car back from the dealership, they say
"3rd gear pressure switch was stuck in ON position, we unstuck it"
And they charged me $80 for that saying that the car is past comprehensive warranty (60K km, my car has 65K),
and this thing is not covered by 100K powertrain warranty, as it's not a MAJOR part of a transmission, WTF?
How do I know it won't get stuck tomorrow?
Honda disappoints me today.
