Hey Guys,
Trying to help advise a friend of mine that runs a 2L GSR in HPDE. He asked
my opinion on what would be the best ems for his setup. I have my ideas, but
you guys are more up to date than I could be at this point, I am not a tuner!
Specs:
12.8-13:1 cr
runs on: 93/sunoco 104 oct 50/50 mix
currently tuned on microtech
professionally built
soft cut at 8400 - fuel cut at 8600
4.785 + USDM ITR tranny
8.5lb flywheel, exedy stage 1 clutch
87.2mm crank
84.5mm wiseco forged pistons
carillo rods
stock deck height
gsr head shaved .040"
cleanup - itr style portwork
skunk pro 2 cams +3in, +7ex
supertech valvetrain w/stock gsr valves
skunk2 pro intake manifold - stock ITR TB @ 64mm
rc 440s with aem comp fuel rail/fpr - 60psi at wot
stock ignition system
catch can system
3" short ram with BPI VS + 6" k&n
2.0 large tube 2.5" tri-y header w/short exhaust (loud)
EG chassis
2050lbs w/o driver wet
He is in a bit of a bind trying to find a reliable Microtech tuner in FL. Would
you all recommend Crome, Hondata (what stage), AEM or another for
an engine mangagement platform? The motor has performed very well now
for a full season and a half putting down avg. 225/150 SAE (hot in florida) the
motor seems due for a re-tune. He is definately willing to make the changes
as the car is wired for Microtech, what would be the best platform for tuning
in your opinion keeping in mind features/tuner-friendliness and availability
of consistent results? Considering the last tuner was a bit conservative with
the settings, perhaps a bit more (reliable) power is to be found in the setup?
Its still basically running on its first tune since startup. To give you an idea of
where this car/driver is at, it currently runs 2:32-2:35" at sebring.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks Again,
Mike
