Cold Air Intake for EP Civic??
O.K. So I just got a 2k2 Civic EX 4dr. Yeah yeah don't laugh. Wife wanted a 4 door for practicality, So I said it had to have a VTEC. I figure, why can't I have my cake and eat it too?
Anyway, Does anyone reccomend a good cold air intake - PARTICULARLY the filter? There's so many out there, which one actually flows the best? Long or Short?
-AEM, -K&N, -A'PEX, -AIR Dynamics, -OBX, -DC Sports, -DAC, Comptech, -INJEN, -Jackson, -Stillen, -ractive, -HKS? Others?
I don't want cheap crap - although I've never seen crap that was expensive - come to think of it, I don't think I've ver seen crap for sale.
Thanks

definatly go for the long ram cause that is a CAI (cold air Intake)
AEM is traditionally what everyone gets. It really dosen't make that big a difference for a daily driver. As for filter the best flow comes from the stainless steel filters - not the paper, also makes it reusable or cleanable.
I got a generic CAI, I didn't see the point in spending close to $200 for AEM when I can get one for $100 that does the same thing...

Go the long ram setup like AEM or Slatertake. The midrange spike will be useable while conekilling. I dropped .7 seconds per run on my 93 DX HB with puny D15.
1998 CincySCCA DSP champion, with a puny D15!
Also the instake will bump you out of stock into STS or SP

I got an Iceman it has a nice feature that I like. It separates so it can be a normal CAI or it can give the short ram effect. I like the short ram for summer driving (especially in FL) because of the rain and high puddles aspect. Just something else to think about.
Also, I don't know about AEM, but the Iceman is plastic, meaning it doesn't conduct heat as much and therefore keeps the air inside a bit cooler.
HTH!

I have heard great things about both Iceman and AEM.
Right now I'm leaning towards AEM until I see the dynos for Iceman.

but ICEMAN is tapered, which totally defeats the tuning properties of using a constant diameter (tuned) intake piping.
You don't use taped ports on a sub enclosure do you?
NOPE!

Hey there! Well, if you can, get an Injen cold air intake, I have an AEM and it works great as well....the cost comparison isn't that much of a difference.
