Default Leaking from passenger axle output on d-series trans..

I started getting a slow leak from where the passenger axle enters the transmission, and it dripped for a couple days. Went out to my car onliek day 3 of the leak, and it had dumped all my trans fluid out. Towed it home, changed the axle seal with a brand new one from honda, still leaked a bit. Yesterday I changed it with an autozone seal, made by timken, and now it just leaks like two drops when I stop. Seriously wtf, WHY is it still leaking..

sometimes the bearing get beat in the trans and the axle ovals the seals.. but highly doubtfull. did u put silicone on the outside of the seal when u put it in? also it sits only a certain amount in not all the way in. and has to be even .

No silicone on the seal when I installed, though I did think about it. I push the seal in until the outside edge of the seal sits flush with the outside of the case.

Im about to go to honda and get another one of their seals, and then change it again. Perhaps some black RTV on the outer lip would help a bit.

- check to see if the seal wore a groove on the axle

Good idea! Kinda weird that a rubber seal would wear a groove in a metal axle though..
