interior
i have been searching for about three hours and my goal was to end up with no questions but that is impossible i guess. i am looking at converting all of my interior from tan to black in my 4dr cd5. I ran across the idea of using a dye on the plastic panels and/or carpet? can anyone give me some knowledge on that because it sounds more legit that spray paint? Also, does anyone have experience with recovering the leather panels on the doors or removing the leather and reapplying new leather?
It might come out tacky if not done correctly. I never liked the outcome of any of those people who repaint their interior. It always look tacky, even though you are converting it to black. It might look blotchy in some areas if not done correctly. Why not just purchase new interior pieces? I am not sure if any year came with black interior, but I know there was a dark gray or dark ash color. That might be a better color to overlay without looking tacky than trying to cover the tan interior. The tacky parts will be more hidden starting with a darker color first.
