can you ref, or legally have a b18c5 in a 96 hatch that passes smog, n wont get your car impounded if you get pulled over? is this possible? what do you have to do and about how much would it cost??

 

you have to check with dmv...in cali i'm pretty sure the only way its legal is if its a motor out of the same type of car...like if you bought a 94 ls and you through a gsr in it, it would be legal..so putting a itr in a hatch isnt the smartest thing to do, i would go for a b16 and stuff it with all the itr parts

 

It can be done, just like getting any other motor bar'd. so assuming its a 96 hatchback, you will need:

97+ Full ITR Motor (USDM)
All The Smog Equipment

or If You Go With A JDM B18C, You'll Need:
Full B18C (With USDM Intake Manifold & ECU)
All Smog Equipment.
