Default D-series SI 5spd

im looking to do the minnie me swap with a d15b2 block and d16z6 head.... before doing this im gonna convert my AT 90ef to a 5spd....all the write ups tell you that you should get an EX or an SI tranny BUT WHAT YEAR?

i know for a fact if i find a 90ef SI tranny that will work but do other years work as well? also let me know if it even matters i mean im sure a 90SI tranny will be cheaper than say a 99SI tranny...since both are D-series im not sure of the difference except LSD or not or cable or hydro...

thanks,
steve
