I wish my FPR was pink.

Are you sure that's an AFI intake? I swear I've seen that before, unless they took heavy ques from a diff manifold.

Looks like Jesse's SFWD Civic with all the purple and pink goodness..... appears to be a direct copy of Full-Races manifold

X2........ If I had to compare it's physical appearance to a like product it would be with a Hyper-tune more than anything........but again very different. I personally have one on order myself and know they are producing them.

considering it's a custom made piece i bet it's at least 2x the price of the edlebrock....

No because it is not barrel like as the Edelbrock is, not box shaped like those old Venom IM's and appears more similar to a FR manifold to me, with the shape sloping towards cylinder 1, and this is obviously not cast aluminum like the FR one is, I am not familiar with the Hypertune manifold so I cant compare it to that.

did a comparision with the edlebrock and wasnt happy with the afi intake switched back to the edelbrock.
i also didnt like the fitment of the afi was really close to the master cylinder.they put all the vacum ports on the underside of the plenum by the runners and used a an thread.you also have to run a remote iac.came with a t1 iac kit though so that was nice of them to give us...overall i dont think you can beat a edlebrock for the power it makes and diff. the price

I've seen the results of the intake manifold comparison and I'm a bit surprised that you aren't happy with the gains. Looking at the power plots, you made a good amount more horsepower and torque from 5500-8000 rpm with the AFI intake manifold. Looking at the boost plot, the edelbrock manifold peaked at a higher boost and was running ~1.5-2psi more than the AFI manifold at 9000 rpm which seems like the only reason the edelbrock could keep up. Jesse said you were also running a stock throttle body, which seems like a ridiculous bottleneck on a ~760whp car. I bet your boost wouldn't have declined so rapidly with a more appropriately sized throttle and you probably would have seen even more impressive gains. Just a thought...

Bart,

I respect everyones opinion and realize not everything is for everyone...but i would like to add my .02 cents

Realistically what kind of gains did you expect to see on a setup like Curtis's? I could be wrong (so correct me if i am ) but i was under the impression the car was stock port head, stock TB with a non-bb gt4294 stretching its legs... Really not the best candidate for a true back to back test ( If i recall this test actually spanned a couple months inbetween also..) The gains should be alot more appearent on a 500-600 whp ( or simply at a lower boost pressure) car where there isn't other possible restrictions or your not running the turbo out of breath.

As for your other issues...Fitment wise i dont' know what else you can do. I've personally had an AIR manifold on my car and have friends with the Full-race manifold. Longer runners and bigger plenum than Edelbrock and your all going to kinda end up in the same location. The AN taps can kinda be a pain in the ***...The next run will be pipe thread. FWIW summit sells a -6an to 3/8 barb fitting for less than $3.00. We have a kit now for the IAC now for anyone running an OEM TB, ironically other than Curtis, everyone has gone Mustang TB..

FWIW here is the graph...Thanks to Jeff Evans for doing the test

To answer the OP and to verify information, yes the manifold is manufactured by AFI and is currently available for B/K.

Orders have been filled for K's and B's for a little while, however I personally chose not to publically release it on here, being we were looking for more test results, so we can provide customer's with as much accurate information as possible.

The graphs show gains, that's obvious. In the near future, there are plans for a same-day back-to-back test.

Thanks to Curtis and Jeff for the testing, as soon as there is more information to give I'll be sure to make it known
