ok, im starting my build on a poor mans type r, ive got the b16 head, and im picking up the gsr block this week and i have a couple questions:
since im running the gsr oil and water pump, i assume ill purchase a gsr timing belt?
i have a set of ARP head studs for a b16, are they long enough to use on the gsr block?
i have a set of gsr cams, if i put the dual valvesprings from the gsr head in the b16 head, will it really matter.
but im mainly worried about the pistons, i have a brand new set of type r pistons and rings i ordered from honda, will i have any problems running them, and will it require me to go have it tuned, its not that im opposed to spending money, im just trying to cover my bases this will be a daily driver and it HAS to be reliable.
if there is anything else i can do to make this build go smoother id appreciate the info.

i'll answer them in order
- YES
- NO
-Get at least ITR valvesprings, you re short changing yourself for future mods, otherwise NO
-NO,NO not required (although I always recomend to use hondata and tune regardless)
do at least itr cams, s2 or itr intake manifold, IHE, and at least a chipped ecu.
change the seals and gaskets on the block.
get a mugen HG.
Spend $250 and get a decent valvejob and get the head checked out at a decent machine shop.
new urethane motor mounts (innovative, avid)
ACT flywheel and hdss clutch for your setup.
you might be setting yourself up for disappointment otherwise when your car doesnt rev out like you want it to, nor make the hp you want it to. i have nothing else to add i can think of. with decent IHE and tune.. its a high 13-low 14 sec et setup in an EG/EF right there with a b16 tranny
