i had a new radiator installed and the temp gauge does not work. its always on the bottom and it'll go up slightly when the engine get really hot

One possibility is the temperature sending unit. On my GSR it looks similar to a spark plug in size and shape and screws into the head under the distributor. Make sure the wire coming out of it has a solid connection.
