front rotors.
I need them replaced. 1993 Accord LX 5-Speed.
So, I was going to try to keep the car on the ground, have a friend hold the break and try to loosen the axle nuts. Those are very stubborn. Any advice?
Once i get that off, what goes next?
Do i need to completely remove the breaks? Disconnect the break line?
There are five bolts around the hub. Do those all come off?
And, this is a good old mid-western piece of junk. A lot of rust. How do I keep from breaking off a bolt?
go to lowes and buy a 5 ft galvanized steel pipe for 10 bucks to slide over your breaker bar. it'll make things WAY easier. Then when you're done, and a cheapass like me.....go back and return it and get your money back. Since it doesn't come in any type of packaging.
i set aside tomorrow to do them.
I spend more money on tools that i never had than to take it to the shop.
I hope i don't break it. Wish me luck!

alright.
i worked hard today but didn't get the job done.
it wasn't a complete disaster. I learned a lot.
I only tried one side. I couldn't get the steering knuckle off of the lower arm. I couldn't get that lower ball joint off. I took everything apart. I couldn't get the drive axle through the hub-rotor assembly.
I removed the cotter-pin. Loosened the bolt 3 turns, but the the arm wouldn't come loose. Does this mean i need a new ball-joint? I hammered the thing hard, i used a two jaw puller that broke (lifetime warranty). It won't budge. Did i not take something off? Is something broken? What should a ball-joint look like? I need help.
I have to work tomorrow at 6 delivering pizza. This needs to get done.
I got really far today. I don't think i ever looked under there before. Thanks for all the help so far.

did you try a balljoint separator? some people call it a pickle fork. if that doesnt work it means your not hitting the separator hard enough or you have too small of a hammer, usualy using that tool you are gunna end up ripping the boot on the balljoint, but it works every time.
best and easiest way to seperate ball joint:
put a jack under your control arm and lift it (compressing the suspension)
as it lifts it will open up a area between the control arm and knuckle, stick a piece of metal between there
lower the jack, the suspension will try to drop but because u stuck a piece of metal there it is now bidning
give it a swift kick downward and BAM! the ball joint is seperated
