Well I just ordered a set of precision turbo injectors for my obd1 turboed ls/vtec. I got the 525cc ones that are made for honda's. My mechanic said that the injectors do not fit and the plugs wont even mate up. Now I have contacted the company and they have told me these are the correct injectors. Has anyone had to do any modifications to these injectors to make them fit? The company I bought them from said I may have to sand down the plugs to make them fit. Anyone had to do this?

 

I thought they were specifically made for hondas? Where did you purchase them from?

 

LSD Motorsports here on Honda-tech. Im not having a problem with them or precision but for some reason they just dont want to fit the plugs.

 

IS your plug OBD2, it need OBD1 plug

 

It should be an obd1 plug. the car is a 92 civic si with an ls/vtec engine. the plugs are grey.

 

you may have to notch out a small piece of the clip out on the inside of it. Its the part on the back that is a straight line coming down. I cut that out with a razor and I dont have any problems. Thats on an obd1 harness.

thanks for the replies. I have been told about the "sanding" of the plugs to make them fit. anyone else have any problems?

 

Yep. Those use EV1 plugs (it's not necessarily OBD based), that should fit those no problem. Some even have FORD housings on it. They don't go by OBD necessarily

ya you need to use a lil blad and cut off the lil notch on the inside of the injector plug... then they will plug right up... i'm using the precision 780 injectors in my car with no problems.

 

once u cut that lil tab off will oem injectors plug back in?

 

yes because you are modifying the injector side not the engine harness side

i have 1000cc precisions in my obd1 95 hatch you have to shave down the single stub in the injector then they will fit right in.GL

Yeah, i just talked to them yesterday also. They told me my 650's will fit. I don't know why the say honda style. What size do you have? Do you have to run a resistor box?

just in case you cant read. this is a good mechanic that works at acura. just cause someone doesnt want to go hacking into someone elses parts doesnt make them bad. would you want a mechanic to start hacking on parts that you bought just to make them fit if they were the wrong part.... i think not. so dont speak before you know and dont bash people that care about others ****.

 

if he was a real performance mechanic he would have known you have to razor out that piece inside the plugs for precision injectors. that is in no way "hacking" it harms nothing and is a simple 2 second job. now if he was a half *** mechanic he would have also noticed by comparing the two that all he had to do was cut down that little stub in the plug.

and LMAO at most dealership mechanics. almost all of them are NOT real mechanics. they just go by what books and computers tell them to do. they are basically robots.

 

what makes him a good mechanic ? apparently his eyes arent working very well or he may have noticed this small differance.....................you dont know what he does on a daily basis ? cutting a small plasic tab is hardly "hacking ****"

So you're saying anyone who work at a dealership have no knowledge of car? what are workshop manual for?

To fix car with the least effort? or maybe you know it all and fix everything with a snap of a finger.

If a tech is doesn't have common knowledge of performance part then of course they would think it a wrong part. When it said to be a direct fit, it should plug right in.
